X-Factor winner Leon Jackson upset at lazy accusations

X-Factor winner Leon Jackson has been accused of laziness after cancelling Hogmanay shows, but a friend says he has tonsillitis and is upset by the criticism.

X-Factor winner Leon Jackson is reportedly upset after being accused of being a bit lazy for cancelling some Hogmanay shows. He pulled out of the New Year gigs at the last minute, citing tonsillitis and doctor's orders, but fellow Scottish singer Amy Macdonald reportedly accused him of suffering from "lazyitis" after hearing he had been well enough to go out and celebrate his 19th birthday on 30 Dec.

But a friend of Jackson has told the Sunday Mail: "Leon has come under a lot of criticism for cancelling gigs but he is very ill. His doctor has told him he must stop using his voice until he is fully better or he will have to have the op [ie his tonsils removed]. In singers, this can lead to a permanent change in voice and difficulty in pronouncing some words. Leon feels miserable. He's been accused of being lazy and has spent days in bed feeling very poorly. He feels he has been unnecessarily attacked".
