Another award for Dynamite

Ms Dynamite won favourite female artist at Capital FM's listener-voted Help A London Child Awards, and revealed she is expecting a boy in July.

Capital FM held their listener voted Help A London Child Awards yesterday, and it was another good day for Ms Dynamite. She was voted favourite female artist – another gong to put with her Brits, Mobos and Mercury Music Prize. Other awards distributed at the event were favourite UK band for Coldplay, favourite UK group for Blue and favourite male vocalist for Daniel Bedingfield. Best single was Liberty X's 'Just A Little Bit', 'Angels With Dirty Faces' by Sugababes won the album chart award.

Pink was named best international solo artist and Nelly and Kelly's 'Dilemma' was favourite international single. Westlife were named favourite international group, Will Young was best newcomer and Atomic Kitten scooped favourite pop act. If all that pop wasn't more than it is safe to handle, Simply Red won an award for outstanding contribution to music.

Talking at the awards Ms Dynamite revealed the child she is expecting in July is a boy, and that she has been playing music him. Speaking to the Sun she said: "There's an old wives' tale that you don't put on weight when you are expecting a boy and that's certainly true with me. I've been finding it hard to move around on stage as I get bigger and bigger. I want to be a proper mum and I don't want to do any more touring until I'm ready. I feel knackered all the time."
