Back Yard take more control with Gut deal

Independent label Back Yard has signed a marketing and distribution deal with Gut Records, moving its UK releases to Pinnacle distribution after 3MV folded.

Independent label Back Yard have done a marketing and distribution deal with Gut Records which will see the label take more control of its own UK releases. As part of the deal Back Yard, who had used the now defunct 3MV for distribution, will used Pinnacle's distribution services.

Confirming the deal Back Yard's MD Gil Goldberg told reporters: "I felt it was time to oversee our own releases in the UK after licensing our 'hot' projects to majors in the past. We are now in an ideal situation. We are making our own decisions but have the experience of Gut in the background. Expect leftfield dance records, four to the floor but with rock n' roll attitude that can develop into live acts. We see a new scene of indie dance records and we want to be in the forefront of it."
