BBC Sound Of 2009 survey announces longlist

The BBC has published a fifteen-act longlist for its Sound Of 2009 survey of over 130 music journalists and broadcasters, with a shortlist to follow before a January winner.

A longlist of fifteen rising artists have been published as part of the BBC's Sound Of 2009 survey, in which 130+ music journalists and broadcasters are asked to name their favourite new acts. I'm not sure they've done a longlist before. Presumably a shortlist will be revealed before the final winner is announced in January. The BBC's Sound Of survey is generally pretty good at identifying acts likely to succeed in the coming year - last year's shortlist included Adele, Duffy, The Ting Tings and Glasvegas.

Anyway, here's the long list in the order of that alphabet thing...

The Big Pink

Dan Black

VV Brown

Empire Of The Sun

Florence And The Machine

Frankmusic

Kid Cudi

La Roux

Lady Gaga

Little Boots

Master Shortie

Mumford & Sons

Passion Pit

The Temper Trap

White Lies
