Courtney Love signs three-album deal with Virgin

Courtney Love has signed a three-record deal with the US arm of EMI's Virgin, with her album America's Sweetheart due 28 October.

Courtney Love has just signed a three-record deal with the US division of EMI label Virgin. Her first release will be her long-awaited album 'America's Sweetheart' on 28 Oct, the second will be an as yet unchosen single.

Much of the album was written with Linda Perry, who has delivered major pop hits for Christina Aguilera and Pink. Love worked with producer and Virgin Records chairman/CEO Matt Serletic on two ballads for the project. Other producers include James Barber and Josh Abraham.

The word is that 'America's Sweetheart' will be followed by a live album (& DVD) in autumn of next year, and a third in the same period of 2005.

Love is due to start a US tour on 10 Nov, which will extend to Europe, Australia and Japan next year.
