Culture minister wants to do 'a really big thing' for music industry

Culture minister Andy Burnham has said he wants to deliver at least one major issue for the music industry, speaking at the Kickz launch.

The government's culture chief Andy Burnham has said he is determined to do "one really big thing" for the music industry, ie to deliver on at least one major issue. Which sounds like quite a weak ambition to me, just one, but perhaps the music industry should be grateful for anything these days. Burnham made the commitment to Music Week at the launch of that previously reported Kickz youth programme which is offering the kids (well, not all of them, but some) free football or music training. He didn't say which of the current issues - making ISPs do more about P2P and an extension on the recording copyright term are the biggest I suppose - are most high on his agenda.
