Dave Matthews Band Live Trax album exclusive to Starbucks

The next Dave Matthews Band Live Trax album will be sold exclusively through US and Canadian Starbucks stores from 31 Jul, backed by a promotion with XM.

The next album in Dave Matthews Band's 'Live Trax' series is to be distributed exclusively through Starbucks. The exclusive compilation from Bama Rags/RCA Records will be made available for sale at US and Canadian Starbucks stores from today, 31 Jul.

Traditionally made available direct to fans as concert merchandise or for sale through the band's website, the Live Trax series is composed of archive recordings from touring concerts with tracks from their Meadow Brook Music Festival performance in Michigan in 1995, to their more recent March 2007 MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, concert.

The release will be supported with a co-promotion with US satellite-radio broadcaster XM, through a specially created channel on XM, 'Starbucks XM Café', reaching an estimated 8.25 million listeners. Meanwhile, from 31 Jul and throughout August, Starbucks in-store promotions in the US will offer customers signing up for a free trial of XM's internet streaming service the chance to win tickets, passes and a meet and greet with Dave Matthews at the Hollywood Bowl.

This all follows hot on the heels of the previously reported announcement from Starbuck's Hear Music operation that Joni Mitchell will soon release 'Shine', a 10-song collection, via the firm.
