EMI COO steps down

EMI chief operating officer Ian Hanson has stepped down as owners Terra Firma continue reviewing the major, with Mike Clasper taking over temporarily.

Another senior departure from EMI Music for you. Chief Operating Officer Ian Hanson has stepped down as new owners Terra Firma continue with their complete review of how the major works. His role will be taken over on a temporary basis by Mike Clasper, the former BAA CEO who joined the major's 'investor board' to review manufacturing, logistics and sales last month. Confirming Hanson's departure, EMI/Terra Firma chief Mike Clasper told reporters: "We thank Ian for his contribution and wish him well in his future career. With his experience of running international businesses at a very senior level, Mike will ably support the EMI recorded music business".
