Latest word on the BMG Sony merger shenanigans is that the European Commission will stage a two day hearing on the proposals from 7-8 Jun in Brussels. The two majors will most likely respond to the 'Statement Of Objections' to the merger, published by European Commission this week, at that hearing. Other interested parties, including pan-European independent label association IMALA, who are trying to block the merger, are likely to be invited to the hearing.
