Festival awards launched

VirtualFestivals.com has launched annual festival awards, with nominations from journalists and public voting opening on 15 November and winners announced on 6 December.

VirtualFestivals.com have announced a new award ceremony designed to celebrate the people who produce, promote and perform at festivals in the UK. 100 journalists and photographers, all of whom did the festival circuit this summer, are contributing their thoughts on thirteen different award categories. Festival-goers will then be able to vote on nominations in each category from 15 Nov, with the final awards announced on 6 Dec.

Announcing the awards, VirtualFestivals.com MD Steve Jenner told CMU: "Providing the most comprehensive coverage of the music festival scene from an unbiased, objective standpoint makes Virtual Festivals.com the perfect vehicle to drive these awards, which will become an annual fixture, extending beyond the UK."

Full information and voting will go live at http://www.festivalawards.com. Press info is available from Chris McCormick on 020 8605 2691 or [email protected]
