So, good old Green Day are the Best Band On The Planet, or at least they are according to readers of Kerrang! And who would want to argue with them? Yep, Green Day took the top honour at yesterday's Kerrang! Awards in London, as well as being named Best Live Act. So lucky them.
Elsewhere at the Kerrang! Awards, which were hosted by actress turned rocker Juliette Lewis, Welsh rockers Funeral For A Friend took the title of Best British Band while New Jersey's My Chemical Romance picked up Best Album and Best Video for 'Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge' and 'Helena' respectively. A Classic Songwriter award was presented to Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor, Marilyn Manson won an Icon Award, Foo Fighters took Best Single for 'Best Of You', Trivium were named Best International Newcomers and Iron Maiden were inducted into the Kerrang! Hall of Fame.
