terrible* is seeking a contract Finance Assistant/Bookkeeper to work mainly from their London office, on a four-day working pattern (working Tuesday to Friday) starting ASAP.

terrible* is a full-service music merchandise company and we’re fortunate to count some of the world’s most progressive artists, record labels and management companies as our clients.

In this role, you will support the Financial Controller in their responsibility, reporting directly to them. You will also provide some support to the Founders on specific projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Help maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • General Admin – e.g. uploading invoices into Dext, responding to email queries and ad hoc duties.
  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks for the US and Irish entities, including recording financial transactions, maintaining general ledgers and reconciling bank.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities: Collaborate with Online department, conducting a monthly reconciliation for our fulfilment costs, ensuring accuracy and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to provide financial guidance, support business initiatives, and contribute to overall organisational success.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in using MS Office (particularly Excel).
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with reconciliation processes and cost accounting principles is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with integrity.
  • Familiarity with the music industry and touring is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Monday (or other project management tools), Dext and Xero would be advantageous.
