Renegade Music is currently looking for a dynamic new personality to join our expanding London-based team.
Renegade is the UK’s market-leading retail, student and club promotions company, working primarily across the leisure, hospitality and retail sectors. With an unrivalled reputation in the music industry, it’s the go-to company for all the major labels and many other independents for the promotion of their new releases across our target marketplace. The company works with both brand new and established artists through a wide variety of genres.
Renegade is generally involved in the promotion of circa 50% of the UK Top 40 singles at any one time, and our roster boasts some of the most exciting talent in the world. Our other business interests include artist management, background music provision, a recording studio and music branding partnerships.
This is an ideal first position for someone especially interested in the marketing and promotion aspects of the music industry who is keen to get their first step on the ladder, and full training will be given. There are genuine opportunities to progress internally, with many of our previous team also reaching senior positions within the music industry, with this job being a great way to get a wide understanding of how different record labels operate.
Role Duties:
- Generally assisting the Managing Director of the company and his team in daily tasks
- Liaising with record companies to collect assets for promotional campaigns
- Servicing new music to our extensive database of contacts via our dedicated online platform
- Promoting releases to DJs, student media contacts and brand music curators
- Arranging interviews and other activities with student radio and press contacts
- Reporting to our clients at record labels on the progress of their campaigns
- Identifying new projects at record labels and helping bring new business into the company
You’ll…
- Live, work and breathe music, having strong knowledge across multiple genres
- Have already started to build a network of contacts in the music industry
- Have a genuine interest in the areas we cover, with the ability to learn quickly
- Be adaptable to a wide range of duties and working locations, both as a team player and independently
- Have a positive ‘can do, will do’ attitude and a burning ambition to advance your own career, as well as help us take the business forwards
- Be confident and knowledgeable in meetings with clients and contacts
- Understand the need for close attention to detail in all aspects of our work
- Be trustworthy, personable, with great communication skills, and a sense of humour
- Have a good knowledge of software packages (we use MS for Mac) and social media skills. Experience in Adobe and Squarespace also an advantage
Hours of work are 9.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday. Hybrid, partly working from Soho Works/Soho House and partly from home.
Salary negotiable, but London Living Wage as minimum. Workplace pension options and other benefits available.
