Marr has no interest in Smiths reformation

Johnny Marr says he has no interest in reforming The Smiths, even for large sums of money, and says he has joined Modest Mouse as a full time member.

Shocker, this one. The lovely Johnny Marr has said that he has no interest in reforming The Smiths, no, not even for tonnes of cash.

The guitarist says: "The Smiths have been offered quite a bit of money to get back together a couple of times. With those sums of money, I'm not at all rich enough to turn those down, but I wouldn't accept those offers either. You don't do it for the money - well, I wouldn't anyway. No amount of money would get me to play with people who don't get along".

As previously reported, Marr joined Modest Mouse for work on their seventh album 'We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank', and he's now apparently a full time member. "I kind of get invited to participate in some band of some sort - and sometimes I like that offer, and sometimes I don't", he says. "When I do, it's because I'm being led by the music first."
