Do you know what the music industry needs? Another awards ceremony. Perhaps not, but MTV in the US will air the first TRL Awards on 17 Feb – based on the best performances on the flagship MTV show.
Viewers can vote via www.mtv.com for categories including: the Close Encounter Award (the artist who went the "extra mile" to fulfill their fans’ dreams), Free Ride Award, Sneak Attack Award, TRL Evolution Award, the Biggest Frickin’ Star Ever To Appear On Our Show Award, Most Revealing Moment Award, The Gridlock Award, The Quit Your Day Job Award (Best Guest Host), The Wet Your Pants Award, Best Entrance, Best Wringer, Best :15 Second Human Trailer and Carson’s Most Uncomfortable Moment.
With a UK version of TRL planned, expect a British version of the TRL awards sometime soon.
