Morgan gets the Gazette

Piers Morgan and backer Matthew Freud have completed their purchase of Press Gazette from Quantum Business Media, and are expected to increase national newspaper coverage.

Piers Morgan has completed his previously reported purchase of print media industry magazine the Press Gazette. Morgan and financial backer Matthew Freud, Rupert Murdoch's son-in-law, have reportedly used their own cash to buy the mag off Quantum Business Media. Morgan hasn't revealed too much about his plans for the Gazette, though it is expected that the amount of news and gossip about national titles will increase significantly - the regional press getting more of its fair share of Gazette coverage in recent years.
