Slow Club

Sheffield duo Slow Club, signed to Moshi Moshi, discuss their new EP 'Let's Fall Back In Love Again' and announce a show at Union Chapel on 1 Dec.

Possibly the only band to have ever been likened to Tilly & The Wall and The White Stripes, this Moshi Moshi-signed duo from Sheffield have been doing a good job of picking up glowing praise from all corners of the music press and beyond, from blogs to broadsheets. Charles stands up front strumming his guitar and singing, while Rebecca plays drums and an assortment of weird instruments. Their new EP, 'Let's Fall Back In Love Again', was released earlier this month and they have just announced a special show at Union Chapel on 1 Dec.

Q1 How did you start out making music?

I bought a Squire Telecaster, like most of my friends at thirteen.

Q2 What inspired your forthcoming album?

I can't really say. I don't think of it as an album at all. It's a hundred different things that has happened to us both in the last year or so.

Q3 What process do you go through in creating an album?

Writing many songs. Trying different versions. Over and over

Q4 Which artists influence your work?

We both write from different perspectives but it's really not artists that make us want to write songs. Obviously, we listen to music. But it's just stuff that happens to us.

Q5 What would you say to someone experiencing your music for the first time?

The security guards love us... why don't you?

Q6 What are your ambitions for your latest album/single, and for the future?

Christmas number one. NME cover mount. Jo Whiley's new favourite band!
