Songwriting competition deadline looms

Entries close on 14 October for the International Songwriting Competition, with over £100,000 in prizes and a judging panel including Joss Stone and Tom Waits.

The deadline for the 2005 International Songwriting competition is looming - 14 Oct. For those that don't know, the ISC is the world's biggest competition for aspiring songwriters, with over £100,000 in prizes awarded, including a $10,000 cash prize for the overall winner. It is open to both professional and amateur songwriters and, given that the judging panel includes a stack of high profile artists, songwriters, music publishers and record label execs (Joss Stone, Peter Hook, Macy Gray, Tom Waits, Loretta Lynn, Universal Records boss Monte Lipman and Atlantic Records VP A&R Urban Darrale Jones among them), it is well worth entering even if you don't win.
