SonyBMG backs RMX 05 remix competition for under-18s

SonyBMG has backed RMX 05, a remix competition for under-18s using samples from Faithless, Kasabian and Natasha Bedingfield, built with GarageBand.

And talking of remixes, though getting back into the official domain again, SonyBMG have given their official backing to a new remix competition, albeit for the younger bedroom producers out there. RMX 05 is open to anyone under 18, and gives aspiring producers the chance to take samples from Faithless, Kasabian and / or Natasha Bedingfield and to play with them in order to create a new track.

Like the previously reported Nine Inch Nails online remix promotion, this competition utilises a new remixing software tool called

GarageBand. Although this software only gives the user limited control over what kind of remix they can create, it is a good tool for those new to the remixing game. And for those that have ago the rewards could be good - the winner will receive two grands worth of

Apple remixing kit plus the change that SonyBMG might release their remix.
