SonyBMG sign up to iTunes Australia, at last

SonyBMG's catalogue will appear on the Australian iTunes store, ending a delay that some reports linked to a wish to become an equity partner.

More iTunes news, and the SonyBMG catalogue will now appear on the Australian version of the Apple download platform. The major had been holding out on the computer firm, which launched its download service in Oz last year. Some reports suggested SonyBMG wanted to become an equity partner in Apple's Australian iTunes operation, hence the delaying tactics, though the major record company doesn't seem to have succeeded in that mission. Music from SonyBMG artists could be available via iTunes Australia from as early as tomorrow.
