Sound of 2006 top ten announced

The BBC's Sound Of 2006 poll names Corinne Bailey Rae at the top of its ten artists to watch, followed by Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and The Feeling.

This just in! The full top ten of the BBC's Sound Of 2006 poll is out. This is the survey that questions 100 odd music pundit types as to what new artists they are most excited about at the start of each year - and as a general rule many of the artists listed in the final top ten go on to do very well in the following twelve months - The Bravery, Bloc Party, The Game, Kaiser Chiefs, KT Tunstall and The Magic Numbers all appeared last year - so it is rather good news for everyone listed. The top ten goes as follows:

1. Corinne Bailey Rae

2. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah

3. The Feeling

4. Plan B

5. Guillemots

6. Sway

7. Chris Brown

8. Marcos Hernandez

9. Kubb

10. The Automatic

Commenting on topping the survey, the increasingly buzzy Bailey Rae told reporters: "I'm just totally shocked because I didn't really think anyone had even heard of me at all. It's amazing and it's quite scary as well. It's very early on because I haven't sold any records, I'm really aware of that."
