Former Stereophonics drummer Stuart Cable is to present the previously reported Kerrang! Awards ceremony, alongside actress turned rocker Juliette Lewis, on 25 Aug.
Interestingly, Stereophonics are up for the Best British Band award, so Cable, who was sacked from the band back in 2003, may at some point during the event have to share the stage with his former bandmates. He insists that he will shake their hands if they do win, but we can only presume that it will be with slightly gritted teeth, given that his legal and financial disagreements with the group were only resolved a month or so ago.
Cable is currently working on new music and has spoken to 6Music about plans for his new band, who are currently looking for a vocalist: "At the moment we are just writing songs. It's a lot heavier than the Stereophonics because that's what I'm from really. Hopefully this time next year we'll be up and running because I just want to get back on stage and play."
