Sue secret revealing website

Apple is reportedly suing Nicholas Ciarelli, the Harvard student who runs the Think Secret website that leaked its product plans.

Apple continue to turn themselves into a Microsoft clone with the news that the computer giant is suing an American student who runs a website that specialises in leaking the company's forthcoming product releases.

The website - Think Secret - tipped off readers of the coming of the iPod way back in Oct 2001, while more recently it revealed both the Mac Mini and a flash-memory based iPod were just around the corner. It was originally assumed the website was being run by an established IT journalist or disgrunteled former Apple employee, but it turns out that it is run by one Nicholas Ciarelli, now a Harvard fresher, but a mere 13 year old computer geek when the site was originally established.

Anyway, according to the Wall Street Journal, Apple now plan to sue

Ciarelli for revealing their secrets - because that's what cool companies that like to 'think differently' do. Whether they will be able to prove that, by revealing their product plan secrets, Ciarelli has damaged their business remains to be seen

- given how successful Apple have been of late, despite the existence of Think Secret, it might be difficult.
