Time Warner may sell off music operations

The Wall Street Journal reports AOL Time Warner may sell its Warner Music Group, the only division that performed well in 2002, as part of radical restructuring.

Despite being the only part of AOL Time Warner that performed well in 2002, reports in the Wall Street Journal on Friday suggested the entertainment major, who admitted record losses of $100 billion last week, might be looking to sell off its music division, the Warner Music Group. Part of what the newspaper called “radical surgery” being considered by top execs to resuscitate the wider company, word is the whole AOL division of the company, and even the profitable Time publishing section, may also go under the hammer, leaving AOL Time Warner without its AOL bit, without its Time bit, and with only the TV and movie constituents of its Warners bit!
