Warner/Chappell acquire Timbaland catalogue

Warner/Chappell has extended its agreement with Timbaland and acquired his catalogue of nearly 400 copyrights, including Cry Me A River and Promiscuous.

Major publishing form Warner/Chappell Music has extended its agreement with songwriter/producer Timbaland, and in doing so has acquired his extensive catalogue of nearly 400 copyrights - a catalogue which includes Missy Elliott hit 'Get Ur Freak On', Justin Timberlake's 'Cry Me A River' and Nelly Furtado's current single, 'Promiscuous', so a catalogue well worth owning.

Confirming the deal, Warner/Chappell top man Richard Blackstone told reporters: "With his ability to transcend genres and his track record of creative innovation, Timbaland has built a reputation as one of music's most diverse and prolific songwriters, performers and producers. Warner/Chappell is delighted to continue and expand our successful partnership with Timbaland and remain committed to developing new opportunities for his first-rate catalog and ever-impressive songwriting skills."
