Weller backs giant guitars for charity

Paul Weller is backing Gibson GuitarTown London, thirty ten-foot guitar sculptures shown across the capital and auctioned for three charities.

More art, of sorts. Paul Weller is backing a new charity exhibition of thirty giant guitars. The Gibson GuitarTown London event will see the free standing fibreglass models appear across the capital from 1 Jun next year. The ten foot sculptures will be designed and endorsed by a variety of musicians, including the likes of Brian May. The guitars will be on show for twelve weeks before being auctioned off for The Prince's Trust, Nordoff-Robbins and the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The Modfather says: "I am proud to be associated with the Gibson GuitarTown London campaign as it combines my passion and appreciation for the guitar, whilst raising money and awareness for three very worthy and deserving charities."
