Wembley choose Ticketmaster to master their tickets

Wembley Arena has named Ticketmaster its preferred ticketing provider, with Depeche Mode reopening the refurbished venue on 2 April.

Bosses at the currently-being-revamped Wembley Arena have announced they have entered into a 'preferred ticketing provider' relationship with Ticketmaster. The venue will now use what they describe as Ticketmaster's "state-of-the-art ticketing platform" which includes ticketFast, a download ticketing service, and AccessManager, an "access control and ticket authentication system that allows the venue to monitor entry traffic, validate tickets in real time and speed entry into the venue".

Confirming the deal, Wembley Arena General Manager Peter Tudor told CMU: "2006 is looking to be an exceptionally busy year for the Arena with 50 events already confirmed and many more scheduled. The first show after our 35 million pound refurbishment will be Depeche Mode who re-open the venue on 2 April 2006. We are confident that Ticketmaster will be an exciting addition to the Wembley Arena offering, providing ticketing support and efficient sales distribution to the one million consumers that come to the Arena each year."

Ticketmaster MD Chris Edmonds added: "Wembley Arena is among the world's most famous indoor music venues and we look forward to providing them with access to all the ticketing products, technology and services needed to support their business and sell more tickets. We are committed to offering our clients the superior service and fast and easy ticketing solution they deserve."
