Whizz Kid acquire Tough Cookie

Whizz Kid Entertainment has acquired Tough Cookie, the music and digital content company behind the Tiscali Sessions, to strengthen its cross-platform offering.

Whizz Kid Entertainment, the Ingenious Media backed content creation company that we've so reported on before, have announced that they have acquired Tough Cookie, the music and digital content company who produce the Tiscali Sessions programmes, among many other things.

Here's what chief Whizz Kid Malcolm Gerrie told CMU: "Tough Cookie have built up an enviable reputation for delivering cutting edge content and unique online and mobile solutions for an impressive range of clients. All of the programming Whizz Kid Entertainment is developing and producing requires digital applications and this move strengthens our ability to be a one-stop shop for broadcasters, brands, labels and artists".

Tough Cookie founder Neill Sullivan added: "We are delighted to be joining forces with Whizz Kid Entertainment. The partnership means both parties will benefit significantly from each other's existing strengths, ours in online and mobile and Whizz Kid's in TV production. The deal underlines our commitment to continually delivering the best cross-platform digital content in the market. The entire media industry is reconfiguring itself for a future where consumer habits are fundamentally different from those of even just a year or two ago. Tough Cookie and Whizz Kid are in the best possible position to make the most of the huge opportunities that are starting to arise with that change."
