Willis is the king of the jungle

Matt Willis has won I'm A Celebrity, a result that should help promote his debut solo album Don't Let It Go To Waste, out now.

You know, when we reported on the then upcoming I'm A Celeb final on Friday, and on how Jason Donovan and Mylene Klass were still favourites to win, I so nearly put my neck on the line by suggesting that, in my opinion, Matt Willis was going to win, while observing that most media coverage of the jungle show this year seems to have completely downplayed just how big a band Busted were at their height. But sometimes I worry about CMU's rather public love of all things Busted/McFly so decided against it. Which is really irritating. Because he did win, and had I run that story on Friday it would have looked like I really do have my finger on the pulse. Ah well.

Good news is that Willis' victory should hopefully help in the promotion of his actually really good debut solo album, 'Don't Let It Go To Waste', which is out now. Though the free publicity might not be the only reason Matt's label were keen for him to go into the jungle, bearing in mind those rumours earlier in the year that label bosses had insisted the former Busted boy go on a diet after fearing he was becoming too fat to be a solo pop star. Word has it he lost a stone while in the jungle. Label bosses shouldn't get too excited too quickly, however - on arriving back in the UK over the weekend he told reporters: "I'm just really looking forward to eating lots of food, the food I've not been eating for the past three weeks."
