X&Y named best album of 2005 by Q

Coldplay's 'X&Y' has been named best album of 2005 in Q magazine's list, with Kaiser Chiefs placing high in both albums and singles.

Coldplays 'X&Y' has been named as the best album of 2005 in a list compiled by Q magazine. The MOR theme was continued in their singles list, which has Oasis' 'The Importance of Being Idle' coming top. Kaiser Chiefs also did okay, with 'Employment' named third in albums, and 'I Predict A Riot' and 'Oh My God' taking third and fourth places in the singles list. Chief Kaiser Ricky Wilson said: "I'm actually dead chuffed. I would have hoped it would have been in there to be honest - which I know sounds arrogant, but then being in a rock band you have to be arrogant, don't you?"
