šŸŽ§ Approved: Coach Party

Isle of Wight four-piece Coach Party – Jess Eastwood, Steph Norris, Joe Perry and Guy Page – grew up orbiting the same island music scene: working at venues, sharing bills and forming the kinds of friendships that eventually turned into bands. That DIY background still defines their sound - not lo-fi, but self-sufficient.

Their songs are recorded and produced in-house (drummer Guy Page handles production), and that approach gives the music a taut, unfussy quality - lean arrangements, clipped transitions and a real-time band dynamic that favours instinct over polish.

New single ā€˜Do Yourself A Favour’ marks a shift in tone: less bite, more blur. It drifts through a fog of shoegaze textures and slacker-paced drums, with Eastwood’s vocal gliding across it in a low-stakes hush. Still, it carries weight - not from volume, but from the tension of knowing what needs to change and not quite getting there.

ā€œIt’s our sympathy for anyone who, like us, is all about putting off important decisionsā€, says Page. ā€œProcrastination seems harmless at first, but then snowballs into anxiety and a lack of self-beliefā€.

The track will feature on the band’s upcoming album ā€˜Caramel’, out 26 Sep via Chess Club.
