Lorenzo planning label comeback

Irv Gotti Lorenzo is reportedly securing financing from a hedge fund executive, Larry Goldfarb, and talks with Universal Music on distribution.

Irv 'Gotti' Lorenzo (remember him?) is reportedly busy securing financing to get his music empire back off the ground. Lorenzo's business interests faltered somewhat during that long running run in with the authorities, who accused the Murder Inc boss and his brother of using the record company to launder money for drug lord Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff. Both brothers were acquitted last December though, and various old friends in the music and investment communities are now reportedly interested in doing business with Lorenzo again. According to the New York Times a hedge fund executive called Larry Goldfarb has committed up to $30 million over a five year period to get the label back off the ground, while Universal Music - who ended their relationship with The Inc when things looked bad for Lorenzo last year - are apparently in discussions to handle distribution for the label.
